Will any 2.5 SATA hard drive work with the Xbox 360 slim?

Is it possible to configure a usb flash drive to work on both mac and xbox 360?

I don't want to spend more money on a fancy xbox 360 specific usb when I already have a brand new one. The problem is I plugged a Centon DataStick Sport 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive into my xbox 360 straight out of the box and it said it can not configure it. Even though I tried formating the drive for FAT32 on my mac it still will not configure it. I'd like to, if possible, be able to use about 5GB for xbox storage and the other 11GB for mac storage. PLEASE HELP!
Answer:

try to format the drive between FAT 16, FAT32, and NTFS. if any of those work, then: format 11gb of the drive to HFS or HFS+ for your mac, then format the remaining memory ~ 4gb to whatever filesystem worked. your drive will then have some data recognizable to the xbox, and some recognizable to your mac.
