What should i do for the video card to be detected?

Please help with a video card that is not being detected by my computer?

  • i have a HP a445c and it has 512 RAM. ADM athlon Xp processor (2.16GHz) 160MB available hard disk space. Windows XP home edition. my motherboard is ASUS (A7V8x LA) it has Three PCI (two available) One AGP2 (available) I bought a new video card which minimum system requirements are: 1.- Intel Pentium lll, ADM Duron or Athlon class processor or higher. 2.-256 MB system RAM 3.- A minimum 300W power supply 4.- A motherboard with an AGP 2.0 slot 5.- 50MB of available hard disk space. 6.- Microsoft windows 2000,XP, or vista. when i click on "install drivers" it says, "The graphics adapter installed in the system is not compatible with the current set of drivers". Also, it says, "INSTALLED GRAPHICS ADAPTER NOT FOUND". What can i do to solve this problem i have downloaded the drives on nvidia web page but the problem still persists. Also, is my AGP slot compatible with the video card? it says i have a AGP2 but the video card requires an AGP 2.0

  • Answer:

I've had this problem before. Turns out that I needed to go to the manufacturer's website to get the drivers, not the nVidia website. Not sure why this is, other than there may be something proprietary in the graphics card.
