Why isnt my webcam MIC working?! HELPP!?

I bought this webcam.. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10779043 from best-buy and i installed it and it works fine. I tested the mic on 2 different tests and it shows its working fine and plus i uploaded a video on youtube directly from my webcam so it DOES pick up sound/ however when i have a video chat with my friends on AIM, if doesn't work. they can see me but not hear me. its not muted and my mic and speakers are all the way up. whats the problemm? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Answer:
open up AIM and then click on the "edit" tab and scroll down to settings. next a new window will open up. click on the "Enhance IM" tab. go to the Audio & Video section and click on the down arrow to the right of the Microphone.
