How To Share Mouse?

I have a laptop with Vista and a desk with XP. How do I share my wireless keyboard/mouse & USB cabled printer?

  • Answer:

To share a keyboard/mouse you will need a KVM switch, you can do a yahoo search to find one that meets your needs (ps2 or usb). To share a printer, go to the control panel, open the "printers" option, and select your printer, you should be able to find the "share this printer" option somewhere around here, it's location depends greatly on which windows it's connected to and the settings you have for your control panel. Then on the other computer you go to printers in the control panel and add a printer, exactly how to get there varies by windows version and how you have your control panel set up, at that point just remember to specify you want to set up a networked printer and specify the name of the computer the printer is connected to, it should download the necessary drivers from your other computer when you select it from the list and install it. (The computers will need to be in the same network for this to work.)
