Why does my 2001 Subaru Outback CD player display stay lit when i turn my car off?

I don't remember it ever doing this before. I went to start my car today after not driving it for a couple months, and I noticed that after I turned the car off and shut the door the display didn't turn off. I really have no idea what would cause this to start happening.

Answer:
Does it have a factory installed radio or an aftermarket? If it is an aftermarket, then it is wired incorrectly. If it's the factory radio, go back after you have locked the doors and a few minutes have passed to see if it isn't shutting off after a short time.
