Best camcorder for under £300?

• Hi all For Christmas im getting a camcorder and £300 is my limit. I am after a HDD one or an SD card one too, which would be the best to look at buying? If the camcorder is cheaper, then I am allowed to take the money to £300 with additional extras which may be needed. Overall Im looking for a good battery life, and a good overall unit. thanks
