How to get location of NSStatusItem on the screen?

My DV tape only shows a blue screen when played back. What is this and can i capture my footage?

• Was filming a short film for my uni' course if Horsal Common on Tuesday 5th July. Everything on the camera was set up correct and there was nothing out of the ordinary on the LCD screen, or in through the view finder. When I came to review my footage at home all i got was a blue screen with time code on it. Yet when i fast forwarded to the end of the footage and then re-wound the tape (whilst in play mode) I could see the footage. However when the footage came up on screen whilst being re-wound, there where light grey bars or lines across the screen. I then Took the camera in to uni' of the 7th July to see if there was a problem with the camera or tape. The exact same thing happened with a different camera of the same brand and type. Camera used : Sony HDV V1 Tape used: Maxwell LP:90 mini DV Prior to this event another guy on my course filmed in the rain (prick) and a camera got wet. I'm unsure as to weather I had the same camera, but I have a suspicion that i did as the inside of the camera case was damp. Whilst filming on location it had just stopped raining, the camera never came into contact with the ground, nor' did it get any water on it whilst in use. My Deadline is the 8th of July, so I'm pretty screwed in that capacity, but would at least like to have some sort of decent reason why the tape or camera has not worked

  I think a tape head cleaner tape will solve your problems. I think you have dirty heads, the footage you shot, too bad, but to improve future shots, clean the heads.
