• Okay so a few years ago I purchased my Canon HG10 not knowing what i was doing i just found the video files and organized them in folders.... turns out thats a big mistake, I also realized that once a file is removed from the file structure it seems to become interlaced. Anything i can do please help. I have tried countless converters most have worked but i dont know what to do about the interlacing problem. I have even tried making a dummy folder structure with no luck. Please help thanks!

  1) Copy all the MTS video files from the camera to the Mac. 2) Using the camera's menuing system, format the HG10's internal drive. 3) This should bring the camcorder back to being useful. Now... Using MPEG StreamClip http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html convert the MTS files to low-compression MOV or MP4 (h.264/AVC files). Since we don't know what you captured to the video or what settings were used, we have no way to know if the interlacing issue will continue. Turn off digital zoom. Always capture video in the camcorder at the highest quality. Try to stay away from fast action video capture. This should help reduce interlacing artifacts in the future.
