Is a Flip really better than an older SD camcorder?

What kind of camcorder its better? minidv,dvd,sd card or internal memory?

  • im looking to bye a camcorder it would be nice to have a touchscreen(if anyone knows which would b better) but right now im tryin to see which type its better? mini dvd,sd card,dvd or internal memory. i know it depends on the brand etc.

    Their are a lot of choices as you know but each has its pros and cons. This is my opinion on your question. Mini DV Pros: Better video quality than the rest Cons: Carrying tapes; Longer import time to computer SD Pros: Quick import to computer Cons: Video quality might not be so great depending on the camera DVD Pros: Easy DVD playback after recording with out the need of computer. Cons: Carrying and constantly buying more DVD.(Unless you buy rewritable) Internal Memory Pros: No need to buy tapes or dvds or extra cards Cons: Accidental memory loss in which you can lose everything you have recorded. Conclusion: I would get an internal memory because you wouldnt need to buy extra tapes or dvds. You can always import what you record to your pc. But the DV has the best quality. I suggest you get a CANON OR SONY..my preference well hope this was good enough. good luck

there is a camer that my mom just got-- takes pix and video gives you the option of disc or memory card and has a touch screen, but you dont have to use it. its the camera with all the options http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9178061&type=product&id=1218046366905

Do NOT get MiniDV. That is horrible and is incredibly annoying. A DVD camcorder is OK, but is a major waste of DVDs and are big. I would get a camcorder with an SD Card slot for normal videos, or one with internal memory for HD videos.
