How do I convert pivot videos directly onto Window Movie Maker?

Video Editing Help--Does anyone know how I can convert my Nikon videos to the right format for movie maker?

  • I have a nikon camera and recorded a few videos on it. When i tried to edit the videos in Windows Movie Maker, it said the type of file my nikon records videos as was not supported by the editing program. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem and convert my Nikon videos to the right format, or if there's another program I can use? Any advice would help.

  • Answer:

Take your HD videos shot shot with your Nikon camera, run them through a Video Convertor Program to SD mode, run them through WMM, burn a DVD then stand there wondering why this such a terrible video quality. Be smart, they sell immensely better video editing programs from $79 up. Get an editor that work with your HD footage.

Same problem too! I use Win FX Video Converter. Its safe, free and it converts my video files fine, none of the quality is distorted. I convert it to the WMM Generic Format, and its super fast, depending on the length of your video. The reason your camera might not have the supported files is because its probably an mp4 format. No worries you can convert it, it will just take a few minutes. To download Win FX Video Converter, just google it...it will come right up! Good luck and hope I helped!
