Best brand for HD camcorder?

I want to buy my mother a Flip camcorder, help!!?

  • I want to buy my mother a Flip camcorder (or other good brand). She doesn't have an HDTV. I read somewhere that if she doesn't have an HDTV and I get an HD model, it will just cause a lot of "shake" in the picture..or will there be any extra quality in the recordings/when she watches it on a regular computer? So I am considering the Flip Ultra Camcorder 2nd Generation, 120 Minutes, because it is not HD and lasts 120 minutes, or the Flip Mino Camcorder, 60 Minutes since it looks so sleek. I am not sure whether it is better to have internal or external batteries, but the Mino does look a lot more sleek (but records for a shorter amount of time). What do you all think is the best option? Those two I am considering or would an HD model work? Thanks!!
