How can I record video and record it's sound with computer microphone?

That is... I want to record a video, but the SOUND, I want it to be recorded from my computer's microphone (not from the camera's mic).... Like how youtube singers record themselves singing live in their homes, yet the sound is recorded from their microphone, so the sound comes out very nice....... what software do I need to do this? Is there a name for such a program? Are they freeware, or are they charged for? Thank you guys in advance!

you can record audio without any software.if you are using window as your OS click start + all programs + accessories + sound recoder OR download CamStudio
