What HD camcorder is a good one?

Should I pay $400 to repair a Canon HV20 HD Camcorder, or upgrade and buy a new one?

  • My video productions teacher brought an HV20 Camcorder to a repair shop to fix it's tape deck, but the quote of the repair is said to be around $400 dollars. His department chair said he should just replace it and throw it out, so he offered it to me first. Should I but this late model camcorder? Or pay about $400-$500 more for a new one?

    Hi Brenden Espanola, Get a new one. I suggest JVC GZ-HM550 High Definition Camcorder. I think it would be a better choice. JVC certainly has one of the most technologically intriguing: a camcorder with Bluetooth. it depends how much you paid for it and personal preference, but if the repair is going to cost more than the camcorder itself then its not worth it
