What camcorder should I buy?

Looking to buy a camcorder, what one?

• Hi peeps, I'm an aspiring film maker and have a lot of ideas I want to put forward, however I lack the one important thing that I should have, a camcorder...I'm young and obviously on a budget but having a job helps rack in some money in order to buy things (after spending £1300 on a new mac book pro o_O). Anyways I need some help on buying the right camera, and being an aspiring film maker, I want to shoot videos which have that cinematic look, I know this is near impossible unless either I'm loaded with cash or in an actual film production, but I want to buy a camera that can use a 35mm lens (to get that depth of field), shoot in 24p (or 60i) with 1920x1080 HD (I'll sort out the audio later) so it gives that smooth picture quality. I'd probably be willing to spend up to about £1200 (gonna buy some Adobe Software so I need to save some money :p), so the best I can get is what I'm looking for. I'm a little confused on what progressive 25p shooting mode means, could someone elaborate that for me? Other than that I just need suggestions on what would be the right path to follow in terms of buying a camcorder, what would the best one and why, because I just need to get all these ideas out of my head and onto the screen, thanks people!   Any decent semi-pro camera around £900 - £1000 will give you big zoom and exposure, iris and shutter control. http://www.sony.co.uk/biz/product/nxcamcorders/hxr-mc2000e/overview is a wee bit more but is a cracking piece of kit. Don't worry about the hardware too much, consider what you can do in post. Have a look at the kind of stuff you can do in post with Final Cut Pro X (Apple store) and your new Mac.
