What do I need to use my HD camcorder as a webcam?

What cables and or software do I need to use it as a webcam on my laptop running Windows 7. My laptop doesn't have an HDMI port, but it does have a 4 pin firewire port.

    Try getting a mini USB to USB cable. i do not know what this procedure is on a mac, but I think you will understand. Hook powered up camcorder to computer with USB cable. With computer on, explore it. Find the icon of your camcorder on the same screen where you would see hard drives ands other devices hooked to your MAC. Double click on this icon and see what comes up. If an image of what the camcorder sees comes up, you have a higher quality webcam, if not, sorry. My MiniDV tape camcorders (3) can be used as a webcam and I do use one for such a purpose.
