Minidv to vhs adapter?

i was looking for an adapter for a minidv tape to vhs. i dont have the camcorder originally used to film these tapes. is there an adapter available for it? i was thinking one of those things that looks like a regular vhs with a slot for the minidv. what brand/where can i find it. even if theres a place i can take the tapes to to convert them would be helpful too. thank you =)

Sorry, MiniDV to VHS adapters don't exist! There was a format called VHS-C that allowed you to put a mini VHS cassette into an adapter, but that's the only one. There are loads of places that will convert MiniDV to whatever format you want (usually DVD) - have a look in Yellow Pages or Google. If you've got a lot of these tapes it might be worth buying a used camcorder and doing it yourself - it's not difficult.

No such thing. The adapter you are thinking about is a vhs-c to vhs adapter. There are very expensive decks you can buy for minidv, they are around 900.00 to 1,500.00 it would be cheaper to buy a minidv camcorder.
