Can anyone recommend a digital camcorder to purchase?

I want to record my wedding in a few weeks and am looking to purchase a camcorder but with so many choices I have no idea!!! I am looking for something that is easy to use, and will play on dvd players. I would also like to be able to edit. sony vx 2100 for weddings, or a vx 1000 if you can find it. great cameras that will never go out of style, and you can use it for many years to come.
