Can Sony Vegas pro 8 work with .MOV files?

How do i make aiptek mov files work on sony vegas pro 8?

My files on my aiptek camcorder come out as HD .MOV files, these arent compatible to sony vegas, when i convert them into wmv the quality looks awful. what should i do to these files that make them good on sony vegas and not downgrade the quality.
