What is the difference between a tripod for a camera/camcorder and a tripod for the ipad 2?

  • I am looking at getting a tripod for my ipad 2. But i was wondering what is the difference between a tripod that is made for a camcorder or camera and one that is made for the ipad 2? I was just wondering because i have one for a camera and was just wondering if i could use that one instead of buying another one

the ipad2 tripod mount is just an adapter that allows a standard tripod to hold the ipad. the problem for photo or video use is it puts the ipad2 in the wrong orientation (unless you are trying to photograph the floor or ceiling). the control handle for the typical video tripod will end-up in an unusable position. so you may be limited to "lock-down" shots only.
