Software program for creating/Editing Videos from Camcorder ?

You could always use Roxio Toast, but you might need a built in burner on your computer. Roxio is a free program and works well with burning files to CDs, but I've never tried movies to DVDs. If this does not work, then you'll need another program or a DVD burner. Final Cut Pro is an excellent editing program, but I find Windows Media Player and iMovie to work just fine. For photos, Photoshop would be your best bet. It's the top of the line. Of course, it also costs anywhere from $100 to $750 depending on if you get Elements or CS3. You might consider the Elements bundle which includes software for handling photos and movies. If you dont want to spend the money, there's always GIMP, a software that works just like Photoshop. It has quite a following, and I think, is worth at least trying. Once you do, you'll realize free is better.

First, I'd get a DVD burner for your computer. You can use windows moviemaker (free comes with XP), it is fairly easy to use. I use Pinacle Studio 9 to use for downloading my video camera (use the software that came with your camera)and it's great for editing. I just got Pinacle Studio 11 ultimate for Christmas so I can wait to use it. I have Nero 6 but it is not my favorite. I have adobe (it lets you clone and clean up photos) for editing photos and also the software for simple editing that came with my printer.

i use roxio creator premier 9.0. works very nice! not to familiar with other programs but runs about $75.
