Copying videos from camcorder to pc?

How can I transfer videos from my JVC GR-DX67 camcorder to my PC?

  • I captured videos from a very important event and I want to share it with my colleagues. I have a USB that fits this camcorder but it won't connect to my PC. The installation wizard always pops up whenever I plug it and does nothing. I already installed the driver and an image editor program from the CD the camcorder set but it doesn't detect the camcorder. Do I need another software or drivers? If so, please tell me the link where to download them. Thank you very much in advance!

    You need to use Firewire cable also known as a IEEE1394 cable. This cable connects to your DV camera and your computer, it looks similar to a USB port but is a little thicker. If you don't have this port on your computer, you need to buy a Firewire/IEEE1394 PCI card and attach it to your motherboard. The process is relatively simple, just open up your computer case and plug the PCI card into a spare PCI slot on your motherboard. If you are running windows XP or Vista it will be installed as soon as you turn your computer on.

Ummm...I would think the USB would work, but I guess it doesn't. Hmmm...I think you should try again. You said the software doesn't detect it, but did you try everything? Try looking in the help tab in one of the programs, and look in troubleshooting. If you want, you could also look in My Computer and attempt to find your camera. Also, try looking in your manual. Another problem may be that the USB cable doesn't work. I hope this helps.

you cannot transfer video via USB. USB is only for images. you need a firewire cable. is it a mini dv camera? if it is. you do need a firewire cable and a firewire port in your computer.
