What is the fastest way to burn a DVD?

What is the best way to edit digital camcorder files? I want to burn them to a DVD when finished.?

  • I am using a Sony camcorder and am having trouble with the VOB files. Can't seem to convert some of them into a format with which I can edit. Have 5 mini-DVD's to combine into one file, then I want to edit this single file, then burn it to a DVD for the owner. (Wedding reception.)

    Hopefully your computer has a drawer loading DVD drive - then using something like HandBrake, you can rip the video to a format your video editor likes. If your computer does not have a drawer loader, then you can either get an external drawer loader or use an analog/digital bridge like the Pinnacle Dazzle.

You can do this yourself with some DVD ripping software or you could take the easy option and send the DVDs to StashSpace.com and they will transfer them into digital files. You can then use their online editing software to create scenes and chapter points just like a blockbuster DVD. This would definitely be hassle free but it does cost $7per tape/DVD to have your stuff transferred to digital files.
