What is a good gift for someone who uses a video camera?

    You're right...a video editing app wud be a perfect match for ur friend's vcam. These are somewhat intermediate apps to the PRO versions used in the media industry. Some of these editors offer free (1) one month trial before buying so ur friend may try then recommend later. Just a little warning: if ur friend indulges in movie making, you may lose sight of him/ her for quite a while, thus you may wish to think of another gift instead!

If your friend uses his camera, chances are he already has an editing software- why would have a camera without one? Since your friend is outside a lot, getting him Neutral Density Filters would be great! It's essentially "sunglasses" for your camera so the footage isn't too bright. I have 2 built in ND filters in my camera (I suppose they just stack), and I would be lost without them. And you can find them under your price range! You'll just have to find out how many mm in diameter his lens is before you buy. Also minidvs are a great gift, you can never have too many. Costco has the BEST price on those- the next cheapest price to buying in bulk. They are 19.99 for 10, I just got them on sale for 17.99. For example, Wal-mart sells a pack of 6 for 23.99.
