How can I download free movies for a Macbook?

I have a Sony SR 37 Camcorder and I am having trouble uploading movies onto my Macbook, can you help?

  • Everytime I try to upload movies onto my macbook it says that the files are unreadable, the files do play on my camcorder but i am not sure if i need to download different software on my mac to get it to work, any help with this will be appreciated. thanks

    Most mac people use a really great piece of software called MPEG Streamclip. You can download this free, open source and very small file from the link below or from the Apple downloads site. Once you have it installed, open it and drag the files you want to convert in.. Then go to File > Export to QuickTime. Select the Apple Intermediate Codec. Choose a folder/desktop location and once it's done, open iMovie, click on File > Import > Movies... and navigate to where the file is. Create a new event and import into iMovie. You can also use this software to convert YouTube movies. regards, Zyfert

Its sound like you are going to have to convert your video files, so that your mac can read them, you have a HDD camcorder I assume the video files are MOD?
