How do I get the video I have recorded on my digital video camera onto the computer?

I have it plugged into the computer and it has detected a device. I then went to Windows Movie Maker because i need to edit it there. Where do I find the video that's on the camera to put it into Windows Movie Maker?

Answer:
Go to my computer and there is somwthing there whatever your camera is called (it could be removeable device) and access the files, then make a folder in deskto or something and there go back to the camera, select all the things your want, right click and cut then aste into your new folder. Open movie maker and drag the files you want in collections in movie maker.
