I need to put VHS tapes on my computer.

How to get a VHS tape onto my computer?

  • Hey guys, go easy on your answers...im a beginner. Anway, I have a Panasonic EIS VHS Palmcorder. I want to know how to get the tapes onto my computer to put on youtube. Like exactly what program do i need (free) or anything else would be helpful. THANKS!

    old syle tape camcorders are becoming rarer and rarer, u need to buy a firewire cable from camcorder to usb (most dont come with it) , and youll need to buy a basic video editing program, but really why would you when you can now buy dvd cams for just a few $$ more (eg canon md225 that takes video sell for $299, dc310 dvd cam for about $380 AU $$) theyre getting harder to find tapes for and ive heard of people having to post tapes away to get put on disc

Transfer VHS to DVD. Then import using any editing NLE software and reconvert to .flv format. Good Luck

you will have to get it transferred to dvd at your local walgreens or where ever else that offers this service and then once its on dvd then you can put it onto your computer
