Should i get a pro camcorder or not?

How can i import videos from my camcorder to Final Cut Pro if my camera is only iMovie Compatible?

  • I'm trying to edit some videos I have on my camcorder and i want to use Final Cut Pro but my camera won't import to Final Cut, only iMovie. I Have a HD Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1A camera and it is only compatible with iMovie on a Mac. My question is, how can i get my videos onto final cut pro instead of iMovie? Sometimes when i import to iMovie, some of the video gets cut off and sometimes will have really strange play back. Also, I have imported once from iMovie to final cut pro but it has some key frames that were lost and the video turns out all messed up. Please let me know. I really want to get this resolved. Thank you.
