How do I get a tape out of my camcorder?

How to Get Tape Form A Samsung Camcorder That Does Not Have USB port on to my computer can you help please ?

  • Hi need to get video from a camcorder that does not have a usb port only s-video port and computer has one also ,connected them both up with lead and nothing is happening is it possible without usb and do i need extra plug-ins from somewhere else if you could help it would be great thank you.

    Supposing that this isn't a digital video camera and it has no fireware port, what you need is extra hardware. Is the computer's S-video port next to the screen port? Then it's an output, not an input, and connecting that to the camcorder will do no good. You need a capture card, and the rest (what types of card, capture/editing software, video formats, storage...) is beyond the scope of this answer. By the way, afaik USB is never used to transfer video from/to video cameras.
