How do I convert digital video to VHS?

How or who can I convert vhs tape, video from digital camera, pictures from myspace & camera & convert to DVd?

  • I was told by Bartells Drug store that I could send My pics from Pc via email to bartells, bring in my vhs tape, & chip from my camera that recorded a short video with sound, & they could send it out & convert it into a DVD or consolidate if you will into 1 DVD. Frustated I spent 9 hours uploading photos to send to them, went down there & some other person there told me They could not. Only order Prints. Cant put a video on DVd & no they cannot put a video onto Cd or Dvd from my camera. Not so pc savvy but I have a hard time believing with all the new technology that this somehow can't be done. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Know its quite a project but can I send this to someone who can?

You may use the best software I have seen AVS Video Tools. It can convert to/from all key format, upload video or DVD directly to key portables like iPod, Sony PSP, Archos, Zen Creative, and mobiles. It can capture video from DV or webcams, TV tuners, DVB-T, DVB-S, transfer VHS tapes to DVD, remove commercials, edit video, copy and burn DVDs and video files: AVI (DivX, XviD, etc.), MP4, WMV, 3GP, 3G2, QuickTime (MOV, QT), SWF, DVD, VOB, VRO, MPEG 1,2,4, MPG, DAT, VCD, SVCD, ASF, H.263, H.264, RM, DVR-MS. There is the free download link: http://www.dvdtoipod.us/dvdvideoconverter/avs-video-tools.html There is the tutorial that how to rip DVD or convert among all key video formats http://www.dvdtoipod.us/dvdvideoguide/how-to-convert-avi-mpeg-divx-wmv-mp4-rm-video-rip-dvd.html

Here goes: 1. vid capture device to convert analog video from VHS tape to digital video as pc won't accept analog. http://www.altoedge.com/usbcapture/index.html 2 digital video & pictures can be processed thru a video editing software to produce a movie that tells-a-story; with titles to let u recall ur memories, enhanced video to look more like a Hollywood movie. Don't include EVERYTHING! Normally only about 15 to 20% are pleasing to the eye. for starters, free Windows Movie Maker* (XP-wmm2 & Vista-wmm6) provides simple & easy way to learn the ropes < click help for details>. Upgrade to intermediate video editing applications accdg. to need & skill level http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ video editing process- XP/wmm2 >>> open wmm- start/all programs/wmm->TASK pane 1. Import/Capture digital video, pics & music 2. Edit- drag/drop video files->timeline & enhance w/effects, transition, music & titles 3. Finish (render)- save Movie – also save Project.msmmw file >>> Share-burn to DvD- use DvD authoring app, e.g.,DvD Flick or Nero Similarly: Vista/wmm6- Import/ Edit/ Publish=>auto-shifts to WindowsDvD authoring app->burn to DvD This is on the assumption that you have the time... and patience to go thru the process. If you have an analog (VHS) camcorder… You need an analog converter, either internal card or external such as the dazzle. It's very easy to use and come with good software. You would hook your analog VHS camera to the analog converter, the dazzle and then hook the dazzle to your PC. The dazzle cost around 70.00 , but worth the money if you have a lot of VHS to tapes to convert. You can open your editing program not windows movie maker but a good editing software like pinacle studio 11, or another of your choice and capture the video and put it in the time line, then you can import stills and or video from your digital camera or camcorder and drag everything to the timeline. Once there you can add transitions and music and then burn your finished project to a dvd. Your DVD can then be viewed on your PC or in any DVD player. Not all editing software will read all types of files, that's why I said not to use Windows Movie Maker. I do these kinds of projects all the time. WMM will not read digital camera videos, but it supports these types of files.  Audio files: .aif, .aifc, .aiff .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma  Picture files: .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff, and .wmf  Video files: .asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv
