Why won't my camcorder work on my computer?

My canon camcorder does not work properly when I connect it with my computer using USB cable. I want the solut?

  • It does not show anything on the LCD screen or on my computer's monitor when I connect it to my computer using the USB cable. Please can you tell me any solution.

    I had a friend who had this problem and found out the cable he had would not work. Then he found the cable was proprietary for the camera. He got the one for his camera (should have been included with the camera--cheap *** companies) and problem was solved.He had a MAC.

As with any other question of this type on here, please help us answer your question by providing us with the camera model you're using. My guess is that your camera only uses USB for still photos, and you need a FireWire cable. Your camera probably uses MiniDV tape. Is this correct?

If it's a minidv, it needs a firewire connection and not a USB connection. If you are using Vista then you need a compatible driver. If you have a minidvd, you need to convert the video first.
