Camera with an external mic.

Cheap Video Camera with a large lens and external mic plugin?

• I want a relatively cheap camera 200-300 dollar range, that has a decent sized lense (not those 6mm ones) and external mic capabilities. Can anyone show me a model that I might like?

  For $200-300 you could get a compact digital camera and few have external mic jacks. I think some of Nikon's Coolpix have that feature. If you don't already have an external mic they cost around $70-200. You won't be able to mount a mic on a compact camera. One option is to use an external audio field recorder (like the Zoom H1, H2 or H4). When you import the video from the camera to the computer editor, import the audio from the field recorder, sync, then mute the poor audio from the camera.
