Does anyone know the best camcorder to get around $400?

• I need to buy a camera/ camcorder for my film class. I dont know a lot about camera so can you help me out. I wanted a camera with photos/video but the thing is i need it to be $200 . Thats why i could get either a camera or camcorder. i need it to work on a Mac. Need a USB to upload it and i need to buy it at a STORE not online. I think costco has soome good deals so if anyone can help me out that would be great.Need top brands like sony or canon preferably Oh and i would like HD 720 but 1080 is the best but remember that is has to be 200 . maybe a little over but not much. thanks in advance.

  I suggest you visit a Sony store the have tons of camcorders of all different prices and a don't really think you should be entirely sold on 720/1080p HD it in that price range there isn't much differenc between them, I think you should definitely also look for framerate 60fps is the most you can display on a screen but if you had a 120fps camera you could slow it down to 60fps and it would be in slow mo, I have a camera that films in 1080/30 and 720/60 and I always go 720 also there are other numbers that are pretty much hidden unless you go into the bigger price range such as colour processing which effects greenscreening dramaticly, audio bit rate and focal lenth and other which I can't name, anyway, go to a store where you can test them and see what's your favorite and keep in mind what kind of filming your doing : indoor/output/underwater/cromakeying ect good luck!
