How do I burn a DVD from hard disk camcorder?

How do you transfer clips from a Camcorder onto a disk that can be playable in a DVD player?

  • I'm doing a project in school where we have to make our own commercial. I already decided on what to do it on but I have no clue on how to burn it onto a DVD-R disk. I've tried doing stuff like that before and they never work for me. I know you plug the USB cord into the camcorder, save the clips in your computer and use Windows Media Player to burn them onto a blank disk, but it doesn't work! I've tried doing the same thing before on another video project, but I ended up sending it to my teacher's email and got points taken off for it. So, in order to get a good grade, the project has to be on a disk. Can anyone help me here?

  • Answer:

What kind of camcorder is it? minidv, minidvd? Iam using the WMM that came with Vista for this answer. You should use Windows Movie Maker if that is all you have, if you are using a minidv, then attach your camcorder to your pc with a firewire cord. Open movie maker and import the video, then put the clips in the timeline, add music, titles and then click on publish video.. If it's a minidvd, you will have to convert the files with a file converter program such as HandBrake (free download) pay attention where you save them to, choose where . Open WMM and import media (important t know where you saved the videos to). Drag the video to the timeline and add music or transitions, tiles, etc then click on publish video.
