Is this camera good Canon HV20?

Looking for a good mic for Canon HV20?

• Im working for a camp this summer making videos (promotional, recruitment, etc) I need to find a mic that will work with my Canon HV20, but preferably would be useful to them in the future; aka compatibility/utility that is not extremely limited is preferred. The director obviously wants to spend as little money as possible, so I need a mic that can catch field sounds as well as work for interviews/voice-overs. Im thinking I might be best off getting a shotgun mic. Hears one that I've looked at http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controll... but I'm open for any suggestions. A cheaper option would be awesome (possible necessary). Ideally I need a solid all-around mic for a bargain (i can dream). Anyway, let me know what you think and if you need any more info.   Audio Technica and NRG Research have some affordable, decent, mics for camcorders with a 1/8" stereo audio jack. Do you want stereo or mono? If you go mono, be aware that it is likely only one audio channel will have audio in that camcorder, so stereo is recommended. I like the NRG SA-568 mono switchable mic. It has a tele/normal switch for "shotgun" or cadioid pattern use. I comes with XLR-XLR and XLR to 1/8" cables and a mic-clip for camera mounting id you want to do that. NRG also has good small stereo mics... The Audio Technica Pro24CM is another good one for small $...
