Is it possible to stream video over the web with a camcorder using its mini-hdmi out?
-
I stream video using an older (tape) camera with firewire. I want to upgrade to an HD camera (Flash memory), problem is none of them are firewire capable. However some do have HDMI and Mini-HDMI out ports. My question is can I use these ports to stream live video over the internet the same as I do with the firewire?

Answer:
HDMI is neither a computer file or organized as packets. it is not compressed, any connection will require at least a 2 gbps connection on the internet backbone. firewire is too slow, only 100 mbps max, and it is serial protocol, not packet. video streaming on the internet is why MPEG4 was invented . use it.
