What is the best cheap camcorder?

I am a film student looking for a cheap camcorder to buy. What is the cheapest best?

    Cheapest Best...you need to set a budget. You can get a $20 camera or a $20,000 one. If you want serious filming, you need a good quality camera. That's minimum $1000 (these days with HD cameras) and you need a good video editor like Premiere or FinalCut.

try buying something thats HD

Go for a canon XL1s its an old camcorder, but there are many around working perfectly, you can get them from about $500 on ebay. The XL1s will still give many camcorders a run for their money today, especially in the quality department.. If you cannot afford that much then I suggest you try to save some more money, submitting work done on much less is not going to get you anywhere. Good luck RR
