What is the best video camera to make home movies with?

What is a good and cheap Video camera to use if trying to make high quality movies at home? thank you?

    I would say any HI8 camera is good enough for that cost you are looking for.However some of the electronic companies have stop manufacturing them as these are now outdated technology.That's why you can get these cameras cheap in the market.But they are good for home videos.If you can afford to spend some extra couple of hundred dollars buy a DVD camcorder which is latest technology and some are sold at very good prices now a days.

Check out camcorderinfo.com cuz the run all kinds of test which let you know how it will perform in various conditions. I would go with the Canon HV20 but it is just under $1000 which last time I checked was not considered cheap. Good luck!!!
