What HD camera should I invest in?

Should I invest in a 3ccd camera or just go HD?

I'm buying a camcorder to film skateboarding but just dont know if I should spend the money on a vx2000 or a dvx100b or just forget it and get an HD camera. Also any segestions for good skate film cameras?

For just a little more $, the Sony HDR-FX7 is a 3CMOS and DV/HDV camcorder - as compared to the DCR-VX2000 and AG-DVX100 which are standard definition only. Since you are looking at the DCR-VX2000 and AG-DVX100, they are both miniDV tape based and firewire is required to get the video from the camcorder to the computer - so we assume your computer has a firewire port (USB won't work). The FX7's lens filter diameter and imaging chip size are not as large as those in the VX2000 or DVX100, but that really matters only for low-light conditions which you should not encounter (safety) when shooting most skate video.
