How can I transfer my 8MM video tapes to my computer?

How do I transfer 8mm video tapes to a digital medium?

  • I have old 8mm video that I'd like to transfer to digital so that I can better store and edit it. What is the best way to make that transfer?

  • Answer:

If you still have the camcorders, you need to get an "analog/digital bridge" like those from Canopus or Pinnacle (Dazzle). USB transfer will not work. That is used for streaming or transferring stills from a memory card only. If you don't have the camcorder, maybe there is a "Video transfer" service in your town/city...

there has to be a better way but as 2000 you still had to place the tape in a machine that transfer ed it 2 disk, And the only one that I know who had the capability was the tv station that I freelanced for in the 90s..but someone has to have a better way ..
