How can I connect my camcorder to my PC? HELP?

Cannot connect camcorder to PC via Firewire?

  • I'm having a little trouble connecting my Camcorder to my PC, I have a Samsung VP-D351 that connects to the computer via Firewire, the camcorder has a 4-Pin Firewire socket, my computer has both a 6-Pin and a 4-Pin socket. The camcorder used to connect to the PC fine when I used a 4-Pin to 6-Pin lead, but now I'm trying to use a 4-Pin to 4-Pin lead, it fails to even recognise the camcorder... Is it essential to have a 4-Pin to 6-Pin cable? I always thought if the PC had a 4-Pin socket, a 4-Pin to 4-Pin cable could be used...
