Old skating videos shot with circular video camera...?
-
This sounds like a really retarded question but I've noticed for a long time that in the CKY videos, in Jackass, and multiple other skating videos, they're often shot with a camera that has the corners blocked out so it makes a complete circle. Why and how is this so?
-
Answer:
they use a regular camera but with an extreme fisheye type lens. that type of lens does several things, 1. it eliminates the need to focus, 2. it eliminates the need to hold the camera level 3. it greatly reduces shakes and 4 it eliminates the need to precisely aim the camera. Fisheye POV video became popular in the late 1990s for snowboard and skateboard.
