Canon GL2 vs Sony VX2100?

I was thinking about getting the GL2 over the 2100 because it is cheaper and seems about the same. Does anyone have opinions on which is better or are they pretty much similar. I am going to be filming snowsports and skating if that helps

I believe they are very similar, but I've heard the GL2 has the edge over the 2100 for action shots if that's what you were going to use it mostly for;). I'm looking for the best deals myself, been doing some research online, check my source for some good deal listings online, found it last week, should be still current tho;)).
