Help! My Samsung Camcorder's LCD screen is still showing when the camcorder is off!?!?

I have a Samsung SC-DC173U camcorder and the LCD screen is still showing when the camcorder is turned off! Also, the screen seems frozen-you cannot play the video or scroll to a different clip, or change the camcorder to the record mode. Any tips on fixing this? Or should the camcorder be serviced or repaired? Would taking the battery out and replacing it be of any help?

yes, take the battery out and replace it, its like comouter, it needs a reboot cuse its froze.
