Why can't I import my videos?

I cant import my videos that i made from my ipod onto windows movie maker?

  • The file C:\Users\sage\Pictures\2011-10-01\movie.… cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again. this is what it says when i try. i installed codec but it still wont let me import them any advice?

  • Answer:

Convert - transcode - the files to WMV using HandBrake from www.handbrake.fr or MPEG Streamclip from www.squared5.com or other suitable transcoder.

Other answers

no , it is a different format , and windows being windows makes everything backward for accessibility outside it's own system , and will not accept ipod files without conversion to wmv or avi (windows native codecs)

As I know, the iPod recorded video is mov video, but windows movie maker supports wmv video. You have to convert the mov video to wmv video for adding into windows movie maker. If you don't know how to convert video, I think this step by step direction would help you a lot http://www.freedvdripper.net/guides/convert-video-to-ipod-psp-zune-cell-phone.html Hope it helps.
