Best camcorder for making short films?

  • I'm looking for a camcorder with 720P quality and great sound quality. I'm thinking of the Flip UltraHD but I'm not so sure. What do you guys recommend?

If you are into making short films, I would skip the Flip and save up for a decent camcorder that can offer focus control, image control (iris, white balance) and includes mic and audio inputs, as well as a headphone jack. Panasonic and SONY make some great affordable small cameras that you can use to start making good short films. (see below) Good luck.

I'm looking for the same thing. I also suggest that you get a camera with a microphone jack; films need good sound and, as far as i know, that's the only way to get it. A headphone jack would also be beneficial if you want to play back the recordings right from your camera. I've looked into the Kodak Zi8, but it's not quite what I want, even though I'm hoping to pay no more than $300 for one.
