Does a camcorder still need to have IR capabilities if I purchase an IR light attachment?
-
I'm looking to purchase a camcorder to film at night. I was wondering if the camcorder would still have to have some sort of Infrared capability/setting if I purchase an IR light attachment or if the attachment will do just fine.

Answer:
in order to prevent false color imaging, all digital cameras/camcorders have an IR blocking filter. so using an IR illuminator won't help. you need to get a night shot camcorder that has user removable IR filter.
