Help with shooting music videos and film? DSLR Cameras?
-
Hi, I posted here about a month or so ago about getting some advise for shooting videos with a DSLR camera. I had recvied a lot of feed back on what I did right (which wasnt a lot), and what I needed to work on. Well, I took some of that advise and just shot a new video. Ill post up both videos as a comparison. 1st Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2cZl2hgh7U 2nd Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5bTGnNpkJg Now, on the 1st video, a few of the answers I received pointed out some errors, such as not shooting with correct ISO, not using manual focus, not utilizing DOF, color correction, wrong wide screen format, etc, etc. I feel I did better on the 2nd video, however, I could use some feedback. I did notice a few errors after we shot all the footage. For example, lighting. I am not sure how to use natural light when there is no sun out. On the shots where the rapper is on the bench by the street, the lighting is so much different then at the beach where it was sunny. What can I do to correct that in the future and make it more balanced? Also, shooting at night. I tried my best not to use the light that comes with my camera, but I couldnt figure out any other way to shoot the ending scene where the rapper is running from the car to the door. Any suggestions? Also, and Im not sure if this is a mistake or just preference, but with the "old age" look i was going for, should I have made it anything different? I played around with several filters that came with FCP and what you see is what I came up with. Should I use different filters to get that effect? Any good filters I can download or purchase online? Any advise you give will help out greatly. Sadly, I dont have money to attend classes or go to school for film. Im basically just winging it. The camera I have, which is a Canon 550D with a standard kit, was given to me as a gift. And the slider that I used in the opening, as well as the rig I used in most shots, was all built by myself on a budget of 50 or so dollars using youtube DIY videos lol. I know its not professional, but its all I have to work with. I really appreciate any and all advise you give. Also, if there is someone that would like to help out and review my future videos, please let me know. I don't want to have to post a question on yahoo answers every time :) Thank you
