How can i fix my camcorder and the cassette?

Is it possible to remove footage from a camcorder cassette tape?

• I have a camcorder and already used like 40 minutes,only 20 minutes remain. Can I delete footage from the cassette tape so there can be 60 minutes again or do I have to buy another cassette tape?My camcorder model is a Sony DCR-HC21.

  You can use the tapes just like in a VCR - rewind and then record over the top of it. I tend to use a couple of tapes for playing around with and keep the ones I've used for "special occasions" (weddings, holidays etc), but you can do whatever you want. Contrary to what you may read, MiniDV tapes don't degrade as soon as you overwrite them! They'll wear out in time, but you should be able to use them dozens of times without any problems.
