Should i get a pro camcorder or not?

Where can I get a SEMI-PRO camcorder (Up to ten years old) for under £500?

And I don't mean the ones you get from shops, I mean the biggish Professional ones that looks like you're making a proper movie with. I have tried Ebay but they a really expensive.
