How much optical zoom does a video camera need?

Making a music video. need help!?

  • I'm making my first ever music video. I have a Panasonic 30x Optical Zoom video camera. I got this camera from a friend, and he didn't give me the manual, and he doesn't know where the manual is. The thing that is used to record the film is a video casset. How do you use this camera? I don't know much about it other than how to turn it on, zoom in and out, and how to charge it. How do you put the video on the computer, if you have vista and if it's on a video casset? Also, how do you edit? I need a program that is free and good to use. Any other information would be VERY helpful, as I only have a week to get this done. NO NEGATIVE INFORMATION PLEASE THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT I GET THIS DONE AND GET IT DONE RIGHT. PLEASE HELP!!!!

    I highly recommend changing cameras to one that has a harddrive in it... rather than cassette tape. Editing free, vista comes wit windows movie maker :)
